Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Names, places, or other terms entered in a search tool are sent to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the entry to supply its results. Campbell County Criminal History does not keep or record those query terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained long enough to review and answer it. We do not share that message beyond the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Normal server and analytics functions may collect technical details when a page loads:

- Referring website, when supplied
- Pages viewed and time spent on them

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Campbell County Criminal History does not compile, maintain, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its content identifies where Campbell County records may be requested, including the Sheriff, Campbell courts, Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority, Virginia State Police CCRE, and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. A partner's privacy policy controls information entered into its tool, including its storage and disclosure practices. We do not direct those practices. Review the provider's policy before supplying a name, place, or other query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Campbell County offices, Virginia court portals, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's policy governs the visit. Review that policy before submitting personal data.
Advertising firms may also use their own systems to follow activity across websites for targeted advertising. We do not operate those tracking systems.

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be disclosed to:

Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under age 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
When it applies, the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, Va. Code ยง 59.1-575 et seq., may provide a Virginia consumer with rights concerning covered personal data. The Virginia Freedom of Information Act governs qualifying records held by public bodies and does not turn this private site into a Campbell County records office. Depending on applicable law, a person may be able to:
- Request access to personal information held about that person
- Seek correction of inaccurate personal data
- Ask for deletion when the law provides that right
- Opt out of covered forms of data processing
